Can you really have more than one niche market?

Is it possible to have more than one niche market, or should you stay true to the one area you know most about? That is the type of question I was asked several times at last week's entreprenuer forum in Los Angeles. The answer is a resounding yes, you can and should have more than one niche market.

The reason for this is that different people will choose to hear your message in different ways from you. By working in an additional niche you will be able to reach those that you previously could not find or relate to in your business. Think of it as saying the same thing to different people in ways that will touch them and encourage them to do business with you.

Super Marketing?

I was approached by a young man as I was entering my local supermarket this morning. I expected to be asked for a donation or pitched for a sale of some type. I was shocked to find that this was a Realtor trying to meet new contacts.

This charming, well-dressed young man is Mace Mejia, a realtor with Park Regency, a company located in North Hills, California. He told me that he makes many contacts this way but all I could say was, "What about your Blog?" I can't help but think that he could do much better by spending the same number of hours letting people get to know him through his writing and expertise. Changing The Way You Contact Prospective Clients

Are you still marketing to people like it's 1999? If so, then you are missing some great opportunities to prospect for clients around the world.

In the new milennium direct marketing now combines online marketing with offline, traditional methods. Try using blogs with an opt-in box for people to subscribe, social networking sites, artcles on your niche, ebooks, and teleseminars. These are all ways that you will find new clients and new clients will find you. It is all part of Web 2.0, where people take an active part is what is marketed to them and are socially interactive during the marketing process.
